Days after EXO broke records in South Korea, it was announced that the SM Entertainment idol group broke records across the world in the United States of America.

EXO, a 10-member South Korean boy band, released full length album "Exodus" on March 30, and by April 5 the K-pop act sold around 6,000 copies in America. According to Billboard, the first week of April became the largest sales week ever for a K-pop act in America.

EXO's "Exodus" appeared in the 70th spot on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart, and number 90 on the Billboard 200.

The success of EXO in April restuled in the group overtaking the Billboard chart record that they had set in 2014, with the album "Overdose." "Overdose" appeared at 129 on the Billboard 200 chart and sold 3,000 copies in one week.

"Overdose" previously broke the Billboard 200 record for K-pop, but "Exodus" not only beat EXO's own record, but took the crown from Big Bang for being the best-selling Korean male act in the United States. Big Bang, a five-member act under YG Entertainment, previously sold 5,000 "Alive" albums.

The Korean version of "Call Me Baby," the title track on "Exodus" appeared on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart at number 2. Several other songs from the album also ranked in the top ten of the World Digital Songs Chart.

The news was announced on by Billboard on April 8, the same day that EXO celebrated its third anniversary.

Along with doing well on American music charts, EXO's "Exodus" and "Call Me Baby" won multiple awards in South Korea. "Exodus" became the most sold Korean album of the first quarter of 2015, and "Call Me Baby" won multiple weekly music show awards.
