KARA Plan To Go Head-To-Head Against Big Bang, Girls' Generation With New Album In May

KARA is joining the comeback-filled month of May, announcing a new album which will likely put the girl group directly against Big Bang and Girls' Generation.

DSP Media announced on April 14 that KARA is in their final preparations to release their seventh mini-album with a tentative release date in May, reports Koreaboo.

The comeback concept will be a mature one, the agency added, but the title of the new album and the exact date of release have not been decided yet, reports KpopHerald.

"The album will be filled with songs that will best show the more mature aspects of KARA members," the agency said.

KARA will be returning as four members with newest addition Youngji. This will be the group's second album as a quarter following their MAMAMIA album in August last year.

Youngji joined last year after winning the Kara Project reality show. She replaced two longtime members, Nicole and Jiyoung, who departed from the group to pursue solo activities and further studies, respectively.

KARA will face tough competition should they choose to continue their scheduled return in May.

Big Bang is slated to drop their first album in three years in the same month. Not even the reported injury of Taeyang is expected to hold back the group's highly anticipated return, which will precede a world tour this summer.

Another top-tier act, Girls' Generation, is expected to be promoting through to May. The girl group has already released the music video for their comeback song "Catch Me If You Can" with promotions expected to stretch through to May.
