K-Pop Crossover: Diplo Confirms Single With 2NE1's CL, Riff Raff And OG Maco Will Be Released Next Month

It may not be her official US debut, but 2NE1's Lee "CL" Chaerin will be seen once again alongside producer-DJ Diplo in a new single this summer.

Recently, Diplo discussed his upcoming projects with iHeartRadio. The 36-year-old had nothing but compliments for the K-pop rapper regarding their collaboration together.

"CL's album, I'm working really closely on," said Diplo.

"She's a Korean pop star who sings and raps. She's on Skrillex and my 'Dirty Vibe' song. She's just awesome. I'm so proud of the stuff we did. She's really cool. We have a song coming out next month with me, her, Riff Raff and OG Maco, and it's a rap song called 'Dr. Pepper.' It's really cool."

Back in December, a snippet of "Dr. Pepper" was reportedly leaked through Diplo's Snapchat video, which featured a female rapper is more than likely to be CL.

Last month, CL and Diplo collaborated once again, this time during a live performance at the annual Ultra Music Festival (UMF) which took place in Miami, Florida.

The event marked the first major music stage appearance for CL when she made a guest appearance during Skrillex's set.

"CL staged a collaboration performance with Skrillex, Diplo and P. Diddy who stood on UMF's finale stage as headliners," read the record label YG Entertainment blog.

"As many as 100,000 people were present at the festival and more than 6.87 million viewers around the world watched it through live-broadcasting."

Diplo's work will next be heard in a new album by Major Lazer set to release on June 1, titled "Peace is the Mission."

"There are a lot of cool features," he said. "There's Ellie Goulding, [which] is the next single. There's Ariana Grande, which people have heard already. There's Travi$ Scott, Pusha T and a group called Wild Belle, who is like a really cool new rock group."
