Big Bang’s ‘Fantastic Baby’ Featured In ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ Trailer

Hollywood movie fans got a blast of "Fantastic Baby," the hit song from Big Bang, as they watched the latest trailer for upcoming Pitch Perfect 2 trailer, reports Billboard.

In the trailer below at around the 1:45 mark, "Fantastic Baby" begins playing in the background and goes on to blare out even the Korean verses, providing an upbeat dance beat to the trailer.

Pitch Perfect 2 is the sequel to the wildly popular Pitch Perfect movie that starred Anna Kendrick and revolves around the story of an all-female a capella group. The original movie went on surpass expectations to earn $113 million worldwide and become the second highest grossing music comedy film of all time after School of Rock.

The inclusion of "Fantastic Baby" in the movie trailer could be seen as a way to appeal not only to K-Pop fans, but also the mainstream audience that has probably heard and danced along to the track.

Billboard's Jeff Benjamin notes that "Fantastic Baby" is one of the biggest K-pop hits in America having spent 112 weeks and peaking as high as No. 3 on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart.

Big Bang is gearing up for its first comeback in three years, releasing teasers for its Made album and subsequent world tour.

Slowly but steadily, K-pop music has been making its way into American media. 2NE1's "I Am the Best," for example, was used in a dance performance in the summer reality show "So You Think You Can Dance."

Billboard's Benjamin also recalls that last year alone, K-Pop acts have penetrated American mainstream media such as magazine features for Girls' Generation, f(x) and 2NE1; commercials and radio using K-pop tracks such as 2NE1's "I Am the Best" for a Microsoft campaign; and Wonder Girls' "Nobody" being played in Penguins of Madagascar film.
