Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: Carlos Boozer Return Unlikely Due To Kevin Love Acquisition? Team Trying To Avoid Bidding Wars In 2016

The Los Angeles Lakers dreadful season is finally over and fans are now looking forward to a brighter future. Now, multiple Los Angeles Lakers rumors are coming out regarding potential off-season acquisitions like Kevin Love and Rajon Rondo are surfacing. What are the chances of them acquiring these marquee players?

According to Bleacher Report's Kevin Ding, the Lakers are determined to acquire as much talents this coming off-season like Kevin Love.

"The Lakers will spend this summer. They hope they can spend on a new superstar such as Kevin Love," he said.

Even Mich Kupchak confirmed that they are indeed looking to splurge since majority of the teams will have enough flexibility in 2016. That would mean they will have plenty of competitors in the bidding wars if they choose to wait for 2016.

"Two years from now, it looks like almost every team in the league is going to have cap room," he said. "We do have a lot of cap room this summer. You can look at that as a strategic advantage, yeah."

Going back to Kevin Love, it seems like the Lakers are already clearing some cap space as Carlos Boozer might no longer return next season. According to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News, "Yet, it seems unlikely Boozer would return amid the Lakers' quest to develop rookie Julius Randle and Boozer's possible hope for a bigger role."

He added, "That's another one of those questions we can't answer right now. A lot of it depends on the draft and free-agent market."

The Lakers are currently poised to pick in the top 5 of this year's draft. Should Kevin Love choose to play for the Los Angeles Lakers, they can draft either Emmanuel Mudiay or D'Angelo Russell to bolster their backcourt. Speaking of backcourt upgrade, it seems like Rajon Rondo is already a mortal lock for the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to Max & Marcellus on 710 ESPN, "As I heard from people who would know told me a couple months ago that [Rajon] Rondo is mortal, about a month ago, that Rondo is a mortal lock to sign with the Lakers," he said.

"Marcellus, when I first heard that Rondo was coming to L.A., which he is, it was about a month ago and a friend of mine who knows, who is in the business, said it is a mortal lock that the Lakers will sign Rajon Rondo. I'm not going to mention his name, but it is a very reliable source who has his ear to the ground," Kellerman concluded.
