Bumkey Found Innocent In Drug Distribution And Drug Use Cases

Bumkey is innocent, declared police investigators on all charges related to distribution of methamphetamine and Ecstacy, as well as drug abuse.

Investigators from the Seoul Eastern District Court handling reasoned that the testimonials against Kwon Ki Bum (a rapper and member of the group Troy who also goes by the stage name Bumkey), on which the charges were hinged, turned out to be inconsistent and ultimately unbelievable.

"For Supreme Court cases where there isn't enough objective evidence, it is the law that the buyers' testimony can be evidence," the court reportedly said, reports Allkpop. "However, Mr. Song and Mr. Bae's testimony kept changing and did not match up with each other, and their testimonies are not believable."

"There is nothing to say he is guilty," they concluded.

Bumkey was also cleared of charges related to drug abuse.

"Even though all the witnesses said he took the drug, they have not actually seen him take the drug, and there is no objective evidence to say he really did take it," the court added. "The evidence is also ambiguous because it was so long ago, so we decided that it would be pushing it to charge him as guilty."

Bumkey fans were elated at the news, but also remorseful that the scandal has already done damage. Not only has it marred the artist's reputation, but it has also put him through a painful ordeal, especially as detractors prematurely judged him as guilty, said sympathetic commenters.

"Where'd all the people who called him druggies run off to?" "So witnesses tried to throw him in the ground but failed? He must've gone through such a hard time," and "So he's innocent. I was really determined never to listen to his music again, how fortunate. I hope people please take an interest in this news," said online fans, according to comments compiled by Netizenbuzz.
