Lee Jin Ah, Jung Seung Hwan Join Antenna Music After 'K-Pop Star' Rule Change

A break of tradition on a Korean competition show benefited two of the show's most talented singers.

The fourth season of SBS's K-Pop Star changed the rules of the show, awarding not only the winner Katie Kim the chance to pick one of three Korean entertainment companies to sign with but also offering the option to two of the shows runner ups. Both Jung Seung Hwan and Lee Jin Ah chose to sign with Antenna Music.

Lee and Jung are the first contestants in the history of the show to be granted the right usually reserved for winners of the show.

The two picked Antenna Music, run by judge Yoo Hee Yeol, and visited the agency before signing on.

Jung described Antenna as the place he would be happy making music at over the next few years, and had previously mentioned during the show that he would like to join the company.

Antenna Music is a Korean pop indie record lable, housing artists like Toy (Yoo Hee Yeol,) Lucid Fall, The Peppertones, and previously represented Dear Cloud and Kim Yeon Woo.

Lee and Jung are the first finalists of K-Pop Star to join Antenna Music since Yoo became a judge during the third season.

Jung Seung Hwan was the runner up to Katie Kim, while Lee Jin Ah was a semifinalist and eliminated from the competition on April 5.

Both singers made headlines throughout the season, due to songs by both artists becoming wildly popular. Jung Seung Hwan's "I Want To Fall In Love" and "I Have To Forget You" achieved number 1 on Korea's Gaon Digital Chart in 2014 while Lee Jin Ah's song "Yum Yum Yum" also achieved great success.
