K-Pop Crossover: EXO Becomes 2nd K-Pop Act To Enter The Canadian Hot 100 After Psy

After charting on the Billboard Hot 100 with the highest album sales ever for a K-pop act, EXO has achieved another remarkable feat in Canada.

According to Billboard, EXO's latest single "Call Me Baby" debuted at number 98 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 for the ranking dated April 25, 2015. Reportedly, the "Exodus" track sold 200 copies and earned 230,000 streams to achieve the placement.

The only other K-pop act to grace the chart is Psy, who dominated the chart for seven weeks in 2012 with "Gangnam Style" and entered the top 10 with "Gentleman" the following year.

Earlier this month, EXO celebrated its third anniversary since debuting in 2012 with "Mama."

"Three years can be considered long or short," said EXO's on KBS CoolFM's "Kiss the Radio."

"In EXO's case, there were a lot of things that happened."

Most recently, rumors of EXO's Chinese member Huang Zi Tao leaving the group has been brewing, particularly after a letter was posted online allegedly written by Tao's father.

"Zi Tao did not get the company's support, instead only returned with an injured body," said the letter according to Koreaboo.

"In that case, what was all our perseverance from the start worth? I decided to bring Zi Tao home for treatment, only to get noticed that we missed the ideal treatment period. If these injuries do not properly heal it will be detrimental to his physical condition, just like how the last straw broke the camel's back, this made me decide to bring him back."

Chinese members Luhan and Kris Wu are currently inactive as members of EXO due to contract nullification lawsuits against record label SM Entertainment. Their last court-ordered mediations occurred on March 27, but were unable to reach an agreement.
