SM Entertainment Spin-Off Agency Begins Promotions For New K-Pop Group Romeo

Pre-debut promotions have started for ROMEO with new video teasers revealing the first two members, Hyunkyung and Kyle, reports Koreaboo.

ROMEO is the new boy group debuting next month by CT Entertainment, a label founded by SM Entertainment veterans behind top acts such as Girls' Generation and TVXQ.

Hyunkyung's teaser was the first one to dop on April 21 and came with the description "All the world will be in love with night" as the idol was seen sitting in a field.

Hyunkyung's teaser had muted colors and featured a eerie background music that suggested a more mysterious concept. The idol could be seen wearing a sleeveless shirt and skinny jeans, and appeared to be in a contemplative mood as he looked out towards the horizon.

Kyle's teaser had the same visual treatment as Hyunkyung's. But this time around, Kyle was sitting on a rock in a middle of a countryside field, with a river and a house visible in the background. The teaser ended with the same cryptic message that "All the world will be in love with night".

What does the message in the teasers mean? YouTube user Mai notes that it is a direct quote from Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet and one of the poet's most famous lines.

"I am literally crying. LOOK HOW PRETTY!" said another YouTube user Caroline "Kiramuruchan" Forest after seeing Hyunkyung's teaser.

"Kyle love at first sight," said a third YouTube user yuliani wahyu after watching Kyle's teaser.

Expect more teasers in the coming weeks as ROMEO unveils the rest of its seven members and nears their Korean debut in May. The group is also looking to promote in Japan, having signed on under the Japanese agency Pony Canyon.
