Former EXO Member Kris To Attend 2015 Met Gala In New York City As Representative Of China

Former EXO member Wu Yifan, also known as Kris when he was still with the group, further solidifies his "it" boy status in China by attending the 2015 Met Gala as one of the country's male representatives, reports Koreaboo.

Kris along with actor-singer Chen Kun will serve as China's male representatives to the glitzy event to be held on May 4.

This latest distinction comes after Kris was given the Oustanding Youth Award during the Sina 15th Anniversary ceremony that recognizes him as one of the fastest rising young actors in China.

Already popular in China for his involvement with EXO and the Mandarin-language subgroup EXO-M, Kris has been steadily building a new image beyond that of a Kpop idol by pursuing movie actor roles and amassing brand endorsements.

The Met Gala is considered as one of the year's most fashionable events due to the A-list celebrities, big-name CEOs and high-profile influencers that make up the guest list.

This year, Jennifer Lawrence, Gong Li, Marissa Mayer and Wendi Murdoch are but a few of the famous personalities attending the 2015 Met Gala.

Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who is the chair of the highly exclusive gather, and her staff handpick the 700 or so official guests. Those not on the official guest list have to shell out $25,000 to join the event.

The 2015 Met Gala is the annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. Every year, the 2015 Met Gala hosts a large exhibit with a specific theme. This year, the theme will be "China: Through the Looking Glass" and will feature Chinese art, film and fashion.
