Although there are no more Digi-eggs to hatch through the nade-nade game, fans still have some weeks to wait for the new "Digimon Adventure Tri" anime series.

Or, do they?

Recently it was announced that the "Digimon Adventure Tri" release date as well as full trailer would be release on May 6. The loophole with this announcement is of course that the release date could be as early as Mid-May or even further out toward the end of the year. Hopefully the former is true. Nevertheless, the release date announcement got fans on Reddit speculating about whether Sora will end up with Taichi or Yamato (Matt).

"The only thing I want to be changed (or at least explored) in Tri, is the epilogue of 02. I primarily want to see Sora and Tai together. At the very least, I'd hope to get an arc ending in 'they tried to be together, and it didn't work out, but they made amends'," explained Syncopia.

"Alright, this is a sequel to 01 AND 02 (considering where it is in the timeline). The creator said that it was always meant to be Matt and Sora and will be. Tai will probably either get Mimi or another non-digi destined character," added FireSparkyZ.

There are some theories that the Matt and Sora relationship was done in result of "shipping" on the part of Japanese fans. However, it would appears that FireSparkyZ's opinion is closest to the truth, since it is based on an interview with a producer of "Digimon Adventure Tri." Unfortunately, this interview is only in Japanese and Spanish with a summary in English.

If the interview translations can't be trusted, then it seems like the character of Sora may wind up with either Taichi or Yamato in "Digimon Adventure Tri." Given that the series is going to focus on the teenage version of the Digi-destined, romance is sure to happen while embarking on another adventure.
