McKayla Maroney Begins YouTube Venture During Gymnastics Comeback Uncertainty [VIDEO]

Singing, acting, YouTubing and also having performed perhaps the best Amanar by a female gymnast. What's next for McKayla Maroney?

The popular social media presence attempted to answer the question during a Q&A session uploaded to her personal YouTube channel on April 19.

"I'm scared of hurting myself again," admitted Maroney in the video. "I don't want any more surgeries."

Shortly after winning two Olympic medals at the 2012 London Olympics, McKayla Maroney fractured the tibia on her left leg performing on Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions. In 2014, the 19-year-old had surgery on her knee after defending her world vault title.

The series of setbacks could be part of the reason McKayla Maroney has not made a comeback to gymnastics competitions since the 2013 World Championships despite the 2016 Rio Olympics inching closer and closer.

"I last met her last year during the Championships [in August]," said US team coordinator Martha Karolyi to NBC.

"She said her intention was to train and come back. That's really the last time I heard from her. I am not 100 percent sure. Certainly if everything goes fine for her and she wants to train, I would be very happy to have her back. This decision that they take is based on a lot of considerations, and the desire has to be there to perform with the same passion like they did before."

Last month, three members of the Fab Five competed at Jesolo Trophy in Italy, including Kyla Ross, Aly Raisman and Olympic all-around champion Gabby Douglas.
