Paul McCartney Performs 1st Concert In South Korea To Rain-Soaked Crowd Of 45,000

"Let it be, let it be," sang a crowd in South Korea as one of The Beatles took the stage.

Sir Paul McCartney performed in Seoul, South Korea for the first time on May 2. Despite rain falling on the crowd at Seoul's Jamshil Stadium, 45,000 people attended the concert of the legendary musician.

The fans sang along to McCartney as he performed his own songs and songs that The Beatles made famous in the 1960's.

Along with "Let It Be" and "Hey Jude," both of which the audience sang along to, McCartney also performed "Eight Days A Week," "Save Us," "Paperback Writer" and "The Long and Winding Road."

Yonhap News wrote that the enthusiasm of McCartney's South Korean audience led the singer to shout, mid-performance, "Korea, you are cool!"

The Seoul stop of Paul McCartney's "Out There" world tour came after multiple performances. The tour kicked off in Brazil in 2013, and will end with the 85th and final show on July 31 in the United States, in Chicago.

In 2014, McCartney's South Korean fans were disappointed after the singer had to cancel a concert due to illness.

McCartney's official Twitter account shared pictures of the singer flocked by fans in a Korean airport, and pictures from the performance.

"Fantastic climax to the Asian leg," read the last tweet from Korea. "Korean fans gave us the best welcome ever. We love them!"
