2NE1's CL Missing From Official Austin City Limits Festival Lineup, Despite Previously Leaked List Of Performers

Some disappointing news for American K-Pop fans.

KpopStarz originally reported that 2NE1's leader CL (Lee Chaerin) would be participating and performing at the 2015 Austin City Limits Music Festival due to a leaked version of the lineup. However, the official roster includes big names like Foo Fighters, Drake, The Strokes, Florence + The Machine but not CL.

Austin City Limits was previously a favorite venue for CL's American debut appearance after releasing her album based on her producer Diplo's alleged appearance at the October festival.

CL is working closely with Diplo to produce her first English-language album. Diplo was also not included in the official lineup as of May 10.

Both CL and Diplo, however, will be performing at the Mad Decent Block Party concert series. CL's first show will be in Brooklyn, New York, on August 9 at MCU Park.

The initial news of CL performing at the Austin City Limits Music Festival was welcomed by international K-pop fans.

"That's my bad girl," wrote Richard Kawashima on KpopStarz' official Facebook page upon the initial news of the unconfirmed roster.

CL's debut as a solo artist in the United States is planned for 2015, although her agency, YG Entertainment, has not committed the singer to a timeline for her album release. Despite the lack of announced release date, CL has spoken to several North American music outlets, including The WILD and New York Magazine's The Fader.

"I think about this a lot: there is not a single Asian pop star who has done this," CL told New York Magazine's The Fader regarding what she's trying to do by breaking into the American music market.
