SM Entertainment Apologizes For Aggressive Interaction Between Red Velvet Manager And Fans

SM Entertainment has issued an official apology for the rough and disrespectful behavior shown by the manager for their girl group Red Velvet, reports Koreaboo.

"It is true that the man in the video is Red Velvet's manager. We are sorry to all the fans. We will strive to make sure this does not happen again," said SM Entertainment, according to Koreaboo.

A fan video caught the Red Velvet manager talking harshly to fans that had been waiting for the group after their Music Bank appearance on May 8. While the girl group was recorded to have been warm and acknowledging to the fans, the manager swore at them as if they were doing something wrong.

The video, which had been uploaded on YouTube and has since gained a lot of views, also became a lightning rod of negative comments not only for the manager but also for other managers employed by SM Entertainment.

This led the agency to release the statement which tries to appease irate fans who thought the manager had gone too far and believed SM Entertainment was condoning his actions.

"Honestly speaking, the manager went overboard. The fans were just saying a few sentences like 'Go back safely.' Swearing to them was too much. Good thing there was feedback on it!" said an online commenter, which gained more than 8,000 likes.
