Since the controversial video of Red Velvet's manager being rude to fans surfaced online, many fans are speculating that the man, who also worked with K-pop acts Kangta and f(x), has been fired for the incident. 

On May 8, a video surfaced online showing Red Velvet's manager verbally insulting nearby fans as they exited an event. After the video went viral, record label SM Entertainment apologized for the manager's behavior, and he has not been seen since traveling with Red Velvet.

"Red Velvet has both male managers and female managers and they rotate between [them]," wrote an observer on Instiz according to Koreaboo. "But since that scandal, that male manager is nowhere to be seen."

Others, however, allege that the manager's behavior on the video is normal for a SM manager.

"SM artists have a lot of history with fans who go overboard, so they're super protective," wrote YouTube viewer GGKHU. "It's not anyone's fault. Everyone is doing their job as told by the company."

Shortly before concluding their promotional activities for "Ice Cream Cake," the ladies of Red Velvet performed "Happiness" for the first time with the addition of Kim Ye Rim (Yeri).

On Wednesday, Xsports News interviewed Red Velvet after the addition of new member Yeri. As one of seven SM Entertainment trainees spotted in the "Happiness" music video, they were asked about the possibility of other trainees joining Yeri for the group.

"Ever since we were little, Yeri and I played and talked a lot," said Red Velvet member Seulgi according to allkpop. "I know about Yeri's merits so when I heard the news, I thought, 'Looks like our group color is getting an upgrade. We're the quiet type, but now it feels like we are fresher. I like that a fun and bubbly friend joined us."

Reportedly, while there were theories that as many as seven additional members could join Red Velvet to become a 12-member group, the current members confirmed that there "will be no more changes."
