Super Junior leader Leeteuk has joined the club of K-pop stars with more than 1 million Instagram followers on May 19.

Leeteuk was thrilled at the milestone, which took him less than a year to accomplish.

"..In 2006..^^..Within 9 months, my Instagram hit 1 million [followers]!!! Twitter 3 million, Instagram 1 million, a large force of 4 million.." Leeteuk reportedly said, according to Allkpop.

The commemorative post from Leeteuk has garnered more than 100,000 likes as fans congratulated him and praised his cute throwback photo.

The message came with an attached photo of a younger Leeteuk, in what could be taken as an appreciative reminiscing of how far he has come and how many fans continue to support him.

After returning from military service, Leeteuk has been regaining his stride as an idol and MC.

A few days ago, Leeteuk shot a magazine spread for @star1's June issue, where he also gave a refreshingly candid interview about him and his fellow Super Junior members.

Leeteuk was humble in saying that there are a lot more celebrities that are funnier than him on variety shows, it's just that he works hard to be entertaining.

Last month, Leeteuk returned to SBS variety survival show "Star King" as an MC and was warmly welcomed back by co-host Kang Ho Dong.

But behind the smiles, Leeteuk is still grappling with malicious online rumors. This has led Leeteuk to threaten legal action against his detractors and other gossipmongers that continue to spread negative comments about him and his family.
