K-Pop Crossover: Foo Fighters, The Chemical Brothers, Noel Gallagher, Motorhead To Play Korea's Ansan M Valley Rock Festival This Year

After taking a hiatus last year, South Korea's Ansan M Valley Rock Festival is back with an exciting lineup for this summer.

Taking place from July 24 to July 26, the festival will gather musicians from the UK, US, Canada and Japan to play alongside popular Korean rock artists such as Apollo 18 and Galaxy Express.

"Award-winning rock bands and artists, such as Foo Fighters, The Chemical Brothers, Noel Gallagher, Motorhead and Deadmau5, will excite tens of thousands of fans this summer at the popular Ansan M Valley Rock Festival, organized by Asia's leading content and media company CJ E&M," read the official press release.

"Ansan M Valley Rock Festival has become one of the top music events in Asia, featuring the best artists from around the world. We are thrilled to introduce these legendary musicians to the performance lineup."

Last year, the Ansan M Valley Rock Festival was officially canceled out of respect for the Sewol ferry tragedy.

"Our nation is in a time of grieving, it is unjustifiable for us to hold a festival; especially considering the relocation of the festival starting last year," said CJ E&M's Music Department chairman Ahn Suk Joon according to The Korea Herald.

"It is true that our festival's brand will take a big blow by skipping a year. However, that loss cannot even be compared to the weight of our citizens' heartbreak and that takes priority."

Launched in 2009 originally as the Jisan Valley Rock Festival, previous lineups included top musicians such as Oasis, Radiohead, The Stone Roses and Muse. Reportedly, CNN also named the festival one of "the 50 music festivals for the summer."
