Rebel Wilson displayed her trademark wit to address the age controversy started by the "Pitch Perfect 2" star's old classmate.

In her Twitter account, Rebel Wilson wrote, "OMG I'm actually a 100 year old mermaid formerly known as "CC Chalice" ....thanks shady Australian press for your tall poppy syndrome x."

The post got a lot of positive comments in support of the comedian.

One fan noted, "your actually Ariel in real life haha."

Another said, "I thought your real name was 'Fat Patricia'?!" referencing her name in "Pitch Perfect 2."

"Pitch Perfect 2" star Rebel Wilson's age controversy started with Woman's Day ran an article that debunked the comedian's claims that she's 29 years old, and that she lived in an Australian ghetto.

The source, who wasn't identified, claimed that Rebel Wilson was brought up in an "upper-class" neighborhood and her upbringing was "very normal."

"She's clearly got a vivid imagination. Maybe you have to tell stories to make it in Hollywood!" the source claimed.

Apparently, Rebel Wilson's real name is Melanie Elizabeth Bownds and as her yearbook published on Woman's Day would attest, she's a very good student with a wide range of extra-curricular activities.

As for Rebel Wilson's age, the "Pitch Perfect 2" actress was reportedly born in 1979 which would make her around 36 years old.

Buzzfeed also ran an amusing article titled "Proof Rebel Wilson Is Lying About Her Age. Illuminati," which photoshopped her image to ancient artworks.
