Carrie Underwood Posts Instagram Tribute For ‘American Idol’; Celebrates 10th Anniversary Of Winning Fox's Singing Competition

Carrie Underwood posted an Instagram tribute for "American Idol" as she celebrated the 10th anniversary of her winning the hit Fox singing competition.

According to a report from Entertainment Tonight, Carrie Underwood uploaded on Instagram a throwback photo from her 2005 "American Idol" win over Bo Bice. The image showed the now 32-year-old country star donning corkscrew curls and wearing a dress.

"So hard to believe it's been 10 years!" Carrie Underwood wrote alongside the Instagram shot, which was posted last May 25 Memorial Day.

"I'm forever grateful to American Idol for changing my life! #blessed."

The "Jesus Take the Wheel" singer has been one of the most successful contestants from "American Idol." Rolling Stone even recently reported how the country hitmaker will be one of the most anticipated performers in the upcoming 2015 Country Music Awards.

Carrie Underwood herself announced on Instagram that she will be performing in the said music festival by posting a snapshot of herself wearing "I Heart CMA Fest" sunglasses.

"Hey #CMAfest! [Looks] like I will be seeing you real soon!" she captioned the photo.

Prior to the Country Music Awards, Carrie Underwood was recently recognized for her hit single "Something in the Water." The track was named Top Christian Song at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.

According to a report from Taste of Country, the song is also Carrie Underwood's longest-running number one song to date and has become one of the biggest songs of 2015.

The blond crooner previously explained the song's outspoken Christian theme as it talks about baptism and conversion.

"Opened my eyes and told me truth / He said just a little faith and it'll all get better / So I followed that preacher man down to the river and now I'm changed / And now I'm stronger," Carrie Underwood sings on the track.

"It's really kind of a joyous, uplifting song about changing your life for the better and kind of having that 'a-ha' moment, to waking up and your life being different from that moment forward," Carrie Underwood explained.
