Anticipation Builds For Girls' Generation Comeback As Multiple Members Switch Up Hair Styles
A June comeback from one of K-pop's biggest acts draws closer.
Girls' Generation's reported plans for a June comeback are coming to fruition, and a change of hairstyles from several of the members of SM Entertainment's most popular girl group signal just that.
At least five of Girls' Generation's eight members were seen sporting a new haircut in May, highlighting the beginning of preparations for the girl group's rumored comeback.
Members of the girl group were seen at events with new haircuts, or shared pictures of themselves on social media to show off the hairstyles.
Member Taeyeon showed off a straight, platinum blond hairstyle on Instagram, while Sooyoung revealed she had cut her hair short at a Stella McCartney event in Seoul. Sooyoung previously sported a short bob during other Girls' Generation promotional cycles, including "Hoot," while Taeyeon appeared as a blond in promotional pictures for the group's "I Got A Boy" album."
Other members from the group also altered their locks. Yuri showed off bangs and long hair tied in braids on Instagram, while Sunny appears in multiple pictures on her account with angled, red hair.
"New beautiful hair, [it's] so awesome," wrote Ratnatries on Taeyeon's Instagram. "[I] always support you. I hope your new hit song will be number one on all music charts."
Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Seohyun, and Yuri did not reveal new haircuts in May.
Girls' Generation's summer release will be the group's first official Korean music since former member Jessica Jung departed the group in 2014. The group's song "Catch Me If You Can" was released for the Japanese market, but released in both Japanese and Korean.
Along with a June release from Girls' Generation, reports say that 2015 will feature a comeback from subgroup TaeTiSeo (Taeyeon, Tiffany, Seohyun) and Taeyeon will make a solo debut.
