TVXQ's Yunho To Debut In Japan As A Soloist Months Before Rumored Military Enlistment

Fans need to say goodbye to TVXQ's leader in August, but before that U-KNOW Yunho is going solo.

For the first time since TVXQ's debut in 2003, the duo's leader Jung Yunho, known by his stage name U-KNOW Yunho or Yunho, will release a solo album. Avex, TVXQ's representative agency in Japan, revealed that Yunho will debut with his first solo album in July.

Yunho's mini album "U Know Y" will be released on July 8 and include seven songs.

On May 28, Avex released a thirty-second teaser video for Yunho's mini album, featuring the album's title track "Burning Down." Within 24 hours, the teaser had received over 200,000 views on YouTube.

The title song "Burning Down" is one of the only two new songs on "U Know Y," along with "Tattoos & High Heels."

Yunho performed the remaining five songs on the mini-album in the past at concerts and events with fans in Korea and Japan. The album will include Yunho's solo songs "Honey Funny Bunny," "Tethered Ship," "T-Style," "Santa Revolution," and "Bang!"

"U Know Y" will be released in limited edition to TVXQ's Japanese fanclub, Bigeast.

The solo album release comes a month before the rumored enlistment date for Yunho. However, SM Entertainment denied May rumors that Yunho would join the Korean army in August.

"U-Know Yunho will enlist in the army this year, but the date hasn't been set yet," a SM Entertainment source said in May.

Along with preperations for his debut solo mini album, Yunho is in the midst of filming a new web drama, "I Order You."  The drama, co-starring Kim Ga Eun, will be released in June.
