‘Sword Art Online’ Season 3 Release Date Might Arrive In December 2015? New Chapter To Cover 'Alicization Arc?'

Fans awaiting the "Sword Art Online" season 3 release date might be in for a treat as the anime could possibly arrive as early as December of 2015.

When-will.net reported that the expected "Sword Art Online" season 3 release date is December of 2015 or early 2016.

"Possible release date of the 'Sword Art Online' Season 3 is end of 2015. There is a possibility that new episodes can come out even later - in the summer of 2016," as stated in the website.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Anime News Network "Sword Art Online" season 3 producer Shinichiro Kashiwada shared his thoughts on how far he thinks the anime franchise will go.

"So there are series like 'Uta no Prince Sama' and 'Love Live!' that sell more, while the sales are very important to me, it's really the desire to make something really important and interesting that fans can look forward to watching," Shinichiro said. "This is what's personally important to me."

It was also stated in the interview that the sales of "Sword Art Online" season 2 went down but is still profitable. "Sword Art Online" season 3 is expected to cover the "Alicization" arc.  Asked if he could share some details about the new season, Shinichiro said that he could not disclose too much information as of the moment.

"Personally, I would like to see the 'Alicization' arc because that's something that hasn't been done," the producer said.

The voice actor of lead character Kirito, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, shared some of his experiences giving life to the popular anime protagonist.

"When I first start on the series, I try to explore how to make a character fun and interesting and how to make a character resonate with the audience," Yoshitsugu said.

"As far as 'SAO' is concerned, after I finished the first episode I thought, 'This is actually really, really fun!' So, I got pretty excited. As far as anything unusual, everything became so busy that I didn't have time to even think about it."
