Man Dies On Flight To Salt Lake City: Passengers Spend 30 Minutes Trying To Resuscitate Him

A man died on a flight from Denver to Salt Lake City on Sunday after passengers spent more than 30 minutes attempting to resuscitate him.

According to Round News, the man---who is described as being in his 30s or 40s--- was snoring loudly in his seat 30 minutes before United Flight 5596 landed in Salt Lake City, Utah.

When the snoring stopped around the time the plane landed, passenger Jared Noall, a combat medic with the Army Reserve, became concerned.

"You could tell something was wrong," Noall told KSL News. "I asked, 'Hey, sir, are you awake?' I shook him a bit, trying to see if I could get a response out of him. We checked his throat for a pulse, and it wasn't there, so we laid him down in the aisle and started CPR."

Noall and two other passengers performed CPR on the man for 30 minutes before paramedics arrived, later pronouncing the man dead.

There have been some conflicting reports about exactly where the man died. According to the AP, United Airlines spokeswoman Megan McCarthy claims the man collapsed on the jetway leading to the terminal, in direct contradiction to the KSL News story.

The name of the deceased man has not yet been released.
