The week of May 24-30 was a particularly quiet one regarding music releases ahead of multiple high profile June comebacks, but the week still saw plenty of drama.

SM Entertainment and Victoria Clarify Departure Rumors

Victoria, the leader of SM Entertainment's female idol group f(x), denied any rumors that she would be leaving SM Entertainment to fully pursue a career in China. Along with a picture that the singer posted on Instagram featuring herself with SMTOWN paraphanalia, Victoria's legal representatives clarified to the press that she had not submitted a contract nullification lawsuit against SM Entertainment. SM Entertainment's rep confirmed that there was no validity to rumors regarding Victoria's future in f(x), and revealed that a seperate agency was being set up in China to manage Victoria's Chinese promotions internally in China.

2PM's Nichkhun and Girls' Generation's Tiffany End Relationship

Both Tiffany's representative agency SM Entertainment and Nichkhun's company JYP Entertainment confirmed during the past week that K-pop power idol couple made up of the two popular Korean stars had come to an end. JYP Entertainment cited "personal reasons" as the cause of the break up. The two began dating in 2013, and confirmed the relationship in 2014.

Shinhwa Wins Legal Rights To Group's Name

After being established in 1998 by SM Entertainment, Shinhwa won the right to the copyright of the name "Shinhwa" for the first time this past week. ShinCom (Shinhwa Company) came to an agreement with the previous holder of the rights to Shinhwa's name, after years of using the name while paying rights to various companies since the group had left SM Entertainment.
