A Korean celebrity and his former girlfriend head to court once more.

The representatives of Kim Hyun Joong, K-pop boy band SS501 leader and actor, head Seoul Central District Court on June 22 to dispute a lawsuite by Kim's ex-girlfriend, known to the media by her surname Choi. Choi is suing Kim for around $1.4 million due to psychological damage as a result of her relationship with the celebrity, during which she suffered from physical abuse and became pregnant.

Kim's parents appeared at a preliminary court hearing on June 3 and the star's father told reporters that the ex-girlfriend's family admitted that no pregnancy ever occurred.

"Even her family said her pregnancy is not true," the senior Kim told reporters, according to eNews. "Her parents were the ones who showed resentment toward their daughter's claim of pregnancy."
During the pre-trial hearing, Kim Hyun Joong's lawyer argued that Choi had never submitted proof of her pregnancy or miscarriage.

"The opposing side claimed to have submitted text messages between the ex-girlfriend and Kim Hyun Joong as evidence; however, they still cannot verify her pregnancy," Kim's legal aid told the court. "We are waiting for the OB/GYN to reply to check the facts."

However, during the court proceeding Choi's legal representative said that Choi's side is submitting evidence to the court that will verify her pregnancy.

In February, the couple made headlines due to conflicting claims about Choi's pregnancy and a rumored marriage. Kim Hyun Joong's legal side has allegedly been unable to verify the pregnancy, and said that no marriage will take place.

Previously, Choi and Kim appeared in court in 2014 after Choi filed charges against Kim for physical abuse. Kim issued a public apology and the case was dropped, but the celebrity was fined by the Seoul courts. The two reunited after the court case.

Kim is currently fulfilling his mandatory service in the Korean military.
