'Fifty Shades Of Grey' Spinoff Not Having Jamie Dornan And Dakota Johnson As Actors' Contract Without Such Provisions?

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are not on board the "Fifty Shades of Grey" spinoff, at least not yet,  because their contracts have not stipulated anything about such.

While Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are signed on to do three "Fifty Shades" films, they are not obligated to appear to any kind of a spinoff movie as announced by author E.L. James on June 1.

"Neither had any idea that the Grey novel, which would likely serve as the fourth film in the Fifty Shades oeuvre, was in the works," said The Hollywood Reporter.

"Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades of Freed," the sequels to "Fifty Shades of Grey" which grossed nearly $600 million in worldwide ticket sales, have already been scheduled for Feb. 10, 2017 and Feb. 9, 2018.

Both Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson also reportedly asked for significant raise to do the second and third installments for "Fifty Shades of Grey," following in the footsteps of Jennifer Lawrence who got paid $10 million for "Hunger Games: Catching Fire" from the $500,000 she was paid for the first movie.

"Sources say the pair received $250,000 each (plus tiered box-office bonuses) to star in Universal's erotic hit based on the first of EL James' trilogy of novels, and both signed three-picture deals," said THR.

"But like most stars of franchise films, they will try to renegotiate for seven-figure raises for Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed. Neither Johnson, 25, nor Dornan, 32, received any backend compensation on the first film," the report added.

E.L. James' husband, Niall Leonard, will pen the screenplay for "Fifty Shades Darker," which still doesn't have a director after Sam Taylor-Johnson walked away allegedly over creative differences with the book author.

"The established author and screenwriter has written for various British TV shows including Air Force One Is Down and Wire in the Blood. Luckily, sources tell THR that a director decision could come in the next two months," said E! News.
