'Downton Abbey' Season 6 Spoilers Revealed; Creators Release Statement About Lady Violet And Lady Edith!

The final season of the beloved ITV show "Downton Abbey" is halfway through its six-month shoot, and already some season six spoilers have been teased by its creator.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Julian Fellowes, the show's creator, leaked that there will be more conflicts between Lady Violet Crawley (Maggie Smith) and Isobel Crawley (Penelope Wilton).

The love story of Carson (Jim Carter) and Mrs. Hughes (Phyllis Logan) will also be in full bloom. In fact, Fellowes explained that he was very much interested in exploring the lives of his more elderly characters. "I like older characters to have emotional lives, because I think it's truthful," said Fellowes. "In movieland, everyone stops being a sexual creature at about 32, or at least the women do."

"The men are allowed to keep going until they are 78 - I've never worked that out," he shared. "In my world, on the whole older people have emotions like everybody else, and I think the show demonstrates that."

Meanwhile, ill-fated Lady Edith (Laura Carmichael) will be spending most of her time in London in the "Downton Abbey" season 6 spoilers. As to whether she will finally have her happy ending, remains to be seen.

Hugh Bonneville, who plays the Crawley family patriarch, Lord Robert Crawley revealed that the shoot has 11 more weeks left. "We're coming into that final stretch really, and it being the last one hasn't really sunk in," he shared during a panel discussion at the Writers Theater Guild.

"I think it will really start having an impact when we film the last scene in the dining room or the last scene in the library or whatever, and we'll check that off the list," he added.

But as for the final episode, Bonnevill revealed that he has not even read that part yet. "I haven't read the series finale," he said

"I haven't even written it," Fellowes announced.

"It will be funny when the each character is finished, and they say, 'And that's the last of Mrs. Patmore or whatever,'" added Fellowes pertaining to "Downton Abbey" season 6 spoilers. "That's always a strange moment - even on an ordinary movie or one-off job - when people who have been all through it start to peel away."
