Pregnant Kim Kardashian Reveals Baby Bump Diet Secrets To Avoid Weight Gain and Preeclampsia With Baby Number 2

Pregnant Kim Kardashian revealed how she's going to avoid the weight gain and preeclampsia she suffered from her first pregnancy, with baby North West. This time around, she's determined to stay healthy and avoid a tough pregnancy with baby bump number 2!

During an interview with Us Weekly, Kim Kardashian revealed her pregnancy diet secrets for baby number 2. Kanye West's wife said she hired a nutritionist to help, and plans to drink more water and consume less sodium.

"This time around, I have a nutritionist that I was seeing before to keep me healthy while I'm pregnant. The last pregnancy I ate a doughnut every single day. I'm not doing that this time, but I've also been taking it easy and enjoying myself... Pregnancy is not the most comfortable thing for me, but I'm really going to try to embrace it this time."

While pregnant with baby North West - which was Kim's first pregnancy - the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star reportedly gained 50 pounds. She originally swore off getting pregnant again, but on a recent episode of "KUWTK," Kim revealed she revealed that the reason she originally swore off another pregnancy was due to the body image issues and public scrutiny.

"They really hurt my soul. It changed how I am in public," she said. "I've tried to live more of a private life. My body just went crazy. After five months I swore I'd never get pregnant again. I got so huge and it felt like someone had taken over my body."

Kim needs to be more careful with baby bump number 2. According to the Inquisitr, preeclampsia a rare condition that leads to high blood pressure induced by pregnancy. It can cause headaches, swelling, vision problems, and weight gain.

"If not recognized and treated, the condition can progress to eclampsia, the occurrence of convulsions that can lead to coma and can be life-threatening for both mother and child," health and fitness expert Lisa DeFazio, M.S.,R.D., explained to HollywoodLife.com. 

DeFazio emphasized the dangers of too much sodium in a pregnant woman's body. "Kim should have a low sodium diet. Sodium holds onto water in the body which causes bloating, and can increase blood volume therefore placing more pressure on arteries thus increasing blood pressure. She should avoid salt, which can be replaced with herbs, spices, and Mrs. Dash."

Hopefully Kim will be more careful this time around and take better care of herself and her new baby!
