BTS Give Fans A Night To Remember With 1st Concert In Malaysia For Red Bullet World Tour

It was a euphoric atmosphere at the Mega Star Arena in Kuala Lumpur on June 6 as seven-member K-pop group BTS (Bangtan Boys) performed a blazing two-hour concert.

BTS conceptualized their concert tour in a 3-episode series, each with a different story focusing on the high school life of teenagers. The current tour, Episode II: The Red Bullet, represents the voice of today's youth in tackling the problems facing teens today.

No More Dreams

As the lights dimmed, with the thunderous cheers of fans, the members of BTS who appeared center stage looking sharp in high school uniforms. The group blasted off with "No More Dreams," serenading the crowd with lyrics like 'It can't be any later. Don't get trapped in someone else's dream, it has to be now or never.'

We Are Bulletproof

Continuing to rock the stage, BTS then energetically performed stage versions of "We Are Bulletproof Pt 2," "We On" and "Hip-Hop Lover," highlighting their passion for the hip-hop music that has became their way of life.

Boy in Luv

Dialing the intensity back a little, BTS launched into soothing serenades with "Blanket Kick" and a short skit about the shyness of puppy love. "Look Here" followed and inlcuded displays of cuteness from members Jin, Taehyung (V) and Jimin, sending the crowd into a frenzy of cheers.

After showing off the beauty and purity of young love with their early performances, BTS took a turn toward the dark side as the concert continued. The group showed emotional pain of lost love through "Let Me Know" and "Rain."

It wasn't long, however, before they showed a hopeful image of love with renditions of "Just One Day" and "Outro: Propose." The soothing ballad performances highlighted the group's beautiful vocals without the shadow of strong rap verses or autotune, making for passionate experience for the audience members.

Rap-Gods

Despite the fantastic crowd reaction for their slower tunes, it wasn't long before the members jumped to attention with their impressive rap skills.

RapMonster, Suga and J-Hope took turns throwing rhymes with "Cypher: Pt 3 Killer." Their freestyle rapping flowed with the beat and as adrenaline levels rose around the room, they continued their performance with another rousing anthem, "War of Hormones," a song about what it is like to be young and driven with red-hot hormones.

Fun Jamming with fans

For the next performance, "Miss Right," BTS first requested the fans practice singing the chorus together with the group members. Like a mass karaoke session, the arena was filled with the joyful harmony of the entire crowd, extending into the next two songs, "I Like It" and "If I Ruled the World."

Attack of Bangtan

After an almost two-hour-long performance, things began to come to a close with two of the group's more famous singles "Danger" and "Boys in Luv." Coupled with their impeccable synchronized dance moves, the final performances were definitely the highlights of the night.

Encore

Before bidding farewell to the swarming ARMY of fans, BTS concluded their stage with triple encore tracks: "Road," "Boyz with Fun" and "Attack on Bangtan."

They thanked the fans for being so passionate, lovable and supportive as Jin mentioned they couldn't have done it without the fans. V confessed, "Aku Cintamu. KL, aku cintamu (I love you. KL, I love you)" and J-Hope shared hope that the fans in attendance look forward to the group's new album very soon. Rap Monster led the group in a final farewell saying this leg of their concert tour was one to be remembered and that he will never forget Malaysia.
