EXO's Chanyeol Revered As Most Popular K-Pop Star On Instagram
The most popular Korean celebrity on Instagram is a member of the K-pop boy band EXO.
On June 11, Instagram released date regarding who the most popular Korean pop stars on Instagram are, and EXO's Chanyeol came out on top. Since May 25 of last year, Chanyeol's account received over 97 million replies and "likes."
Chanyeol came out ahead of other top K-pop stars, reported Yonhap. Another EXO member, Sehun, Big Bang's leader G-Dragon, Super Junior's Heechul, and 4MINUTE's HyunA were the next most popular stars.
Combined, the five accounts received over 2 billion replies and "likes" from over 150 million followers from 20 countries in the past year alone.
Based on followers alone G-Dragon is the top K-pop star on Instagram, with 4.5 million followers. Girls' Generation's Taeyeon, Chanyeol, Sehun, and another EXO member, Baekhyun, followed behind G-Dragon.
According to Instagram, Korean stars had the largest number of followers from Indonesia, Thailand, and the United States.
Along with being a member of the popular Korean boy band EXO, Chanyeol's popularity is in part because of his constant updates on Instagram. The rapper updates his account constantly, sharing images and videos from his daily life.
The latest updates on Chanyeol's account include videos from EXO's latest concert and clips of EXO's members singing.
