EXO's Xiumin, EXID's Hani, CNBLUE's Yonghwa Among Anticipated Cast Members For Chinese, Thai 'Dream Team' Spin-Offs

The popular Korean variety show Dream Team is going global!

Chinese and Thai production teams are set to team up with the Korean producers to create their own spin-offs.

A KBS official shared the details of both spin-offs with Star News. The Korean-Chinese spin-off will have ten episodes total, and four episodes will also air in both Korea and China. The Korean-Thai spin-off will have thirteen episodes, three of which will air in Korea as well.

The official also shared a list of prominent Korean celebrities who are likely to be part of the cast. EXO's Xiumin, Super Junior's Eunhyuk, SHINee's Minho, EXID's Hani, GOT7's Jackson, FT Island's Lee Hong Ki, and CNBLUE's Yonghwa, are projected to appear in the spin-off Dream Team episodes, among others.

The Korean-Chinese Dream Team is slated air on August 22 in China and August 23 in Korea. Filming is set to begin in Korea on July 22 and 23. According to TV Report, the series was supposed to film in June but the MERS scare made it difficult for the Chinese producers to gather cast members. As a result they had to postpone it for the month.

Dream Team is not the first Chinese spin-off of popular Korean variety shows. Shows like I Am a Singer and Running Man have already achieved success in China. "Because of this success, both production teams are investing a lot into the program and top idols are in negotiations to appear. We hope that the success will lead to opportunities for future seasons," a show representative told TV Report.

Meanwhile, the Korean-Thai series is projected to start filming in September. The Thai crew has stated they gathered a great line up of celebrities for their own show as well.
