Sony PS4 Controller Unveiled; Sony Announced New DualShock 4 Controller For PlayStation 4 [PHOTO]

Sony held an announcement event for the new PlayStation 4 game system yesterday, where the company revealed the new PS4 controller.

Sony departed from the DualShock controllers used with previous PlayStation game systems by adding several new features to the original model.

The new Dualshock 4 PS4 controller features a touchpad, motion control, and a light bar.

The color-changing light bar can be used to identify and connect with other players through color-coding, in addition to allowing interaction with the new PlayStation 'Eye' camera for advanced motor controls.

The Start and Select buttons have been moved to the sides of the controller to make room for the touchpad, and the controller now contains a convenient 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Sony also revealed that the PS4 controller would feature a "Share" button to allow PlayStation 4 gamers to share their experiences and achievements on social media feeds through screen shots and announcements.

The PS4 DualShock 4 controller features two joysticks that are now concave, a change from previous controller design. The new model also features four triggers, and triangle, cross, circle and square buttons like the original PlayStation controller.

Mark Cerny, Lead System Architect for the PS4, revealed in the launching event that the DualShock 4 PS4 controller helps to enhance the console's performance by reducing latency and improving rumble.

In general, the design of the new controller looks similar to the previously leaked images but with more polish.

The new PS4 game system and controller is Sony's first new release since the 2006 introduction of the PlayStation 3.
