Fans Of 2AM's Jo Kwon Make Large Rice Donation In Honor Of Singer's Role In Musical 'Chess'

2AM singer and musical actor Jo Kwon received warm and kind-hearted support from his fans as his new musical Chess prepares to debut on the theater stage.

Jo Kwon proudly uploaded a photo of the fan donation on his Instagram account. Fans sent out sacks of rice to Sejong Center Grand Theater in Gwanghwamun in central Seoul where Chess will be playing starting June 19.

Along with the rice donation, fans also put up large photos of Jo Kwon and decorated the portraits with streamers of praise and congratulations for the idol's leading role performance in Chess.

Jo Kwon has been building up an impressive list of credits in the musical stage. Last year, the 2AM singer gained positive reviews for his turn as the titular character in the Korean staging of Priscilla.

Chess tells the story of Anatoly Karpov, a chess grandmaster during the politically charged Cold War era, who then battles the American Freddie Trumper in a high-stakes championship match.

In a recent interview for Chess for High Cut magazine, Jo Kwon shared insights about his latest musical role and also revealed that he now has somebody "whom I am meeting with good feelings."
