Girls' Generation Announce Plans For New Reality Show With Remaining 8 Members
The Girls' are ready to go reality, again.
Girls' Generation is returning to the small screen for the first time since a member left the K-pop heavyweight act in 2014. The Korean girl group is in the midst of preparations of a summer album release, and will appear in a new OnStyle reality television show in anticipation.
Girls' Generation will appear in reality show focused on the eight-member girl group. A representative from OnStyle, a Korean broadcasting station, said that the company is in talks with Girls' Generation.
"The show is expected to broadcast around mid-July, but the exact date could be changed depending on when the group rolls out its next album. Details have yet to be confirmed," a rep was quoted in the K-Pop Herald.
This will be Girls' Generation's first reality show since former member Jessica Jung left the group in 2014 to pursue a career as a fashion designer. The group's upcoming release is highly anticipated due to the line-up changes. It will be Girls' Generation's first album since 2014's "Mr. Mr."
The reported OnStyle reality show will also be the first time that Girls' Generation has been featured as a whole in a reality series since the members appeared on JTBC's "Girls' Generation and the Dangerous Boys" in 2011. Three members of Girls' Generation (Subgroup Girls' Generation TTS-Tiffany, Taeyeon, Seohyun) last appeared on OnStyle's "The TaeTiSeo" in 2014.
