Sony Reportedly Revealing Launch Date For Xperia Z5 After Z4 Release; Specs And Features Inside

Sony is reportedly revealing the release date for the upcoming Xperia Z5 after the Z4 launches.

Between the two upcoming models, various sources are claiming that the Z5 will be the better smarthphone.

GizmoFacts has listed down the specs of both; according to their article, the Z4 will "likely" feature a 3-inch 4k screen with Gorilla Glass, a 3GHz 64-bit Quallcom chip, 3GB of RAM, a 27-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front camera, operating on an Android 5.0 OS, and powered by a 4,000maH battery. The new model is reportedly waterproof for up to 100 meters.

The Z5 will have a bigger 5-inch display and will carry a new 30-megapixel camera and 10-megapixel rear camera, both featuring Sony's Optical Image Stabilization; these improvements are said to be coupled with a new IMX320 sensor. Furthermore, 4GB of RAM, 2GHz Octa Core 64-bit Quallcomm sensor, and 128GB internal storage. Notable features include a fingerprint ID sensor, marking the company's first smartphone to carry the safety device, gravity sensor, and retina scanner. The latest rumor claims that it will carry a battery that is capable of a full charge in minutes.

"The most interesting feature that might come is the fast charging battery capabilities, there are rumors that are stating, a phone could be charged in 5 to 10 minutes," according to xiperiaz5.com.

It is also reported to be inspired by Sony's flagship television line, BRAVIA.

Android Origin claims the Z5's design draws heavily from the company's recent BRAVIA television sets and will feature a completely clean front end with a frosted glass effect," adding "the body will be thicker than the Xperia Z3 and Z4, with more angular sides."

Phones Review speculates the Z5 may focus on gaming features and have "a whole new look, something that would really stand out above previous Xperia Z handsets."

As for the release date, it is widely believed that the Z5 will likely hit the consumer market sometime in 2016.
