MAMAMOO Return With New EP 'Pink Funky' 1 Year After Award-Winning Debut

After much anticipation, WA Entertainment's powerhouse quartet, MAMAMOO, is back with the release of their second EP, Pink Funky.

Composed by RBW's chief producer and CEO, Kim Do Hoon, the title track "Um Oh Ah Yeh" is an R&B dance track with a fresher, younger sound compared to the group's previous retro-inspired songs. Making a name for themselves as a group who participates heavily in the creation of their music, MAMAMOO came together alongside the world-renowned mastering engineer, Christ Gheringer, for the creation of this album.

Working diligently, MAMAMOO strived to enhance the album's quality. According to a company spokesperson you can expect to see MAMAMOO "one-step upgraded" on Pink Funky.

The new EP includes a total of six tracks including the group's pre-released single "AHH OOP!" from April of this year.

Having worked with several popular artists including K.Will, Wheesung, Bumkey, the rap duo Geeks, VIXX's Ravi, as well as singer-songwriter eSNa, MAMAMOO has made quite a name for themselves, despite their rookie status. Since their debut last June, MAMAMOO has ranked in the top ten on Gaon's Music Charts and have brought home several impressive awards, including Gaon's "New Artist of the Year" and the Seoul Success Award "Rookie of the Year."

Releasing "Pink Funky" exactly one year after their first mini-album, "Mr. Ambiguous," MAMAMOO looks to the future with the hopes that, as Solar put it in a recent interview with KPopStarz, "[MAMAMOO] could become a genre and people would recognize us just by hearing a song."
