A Wonder Girls Comeback? Nothing Confirmed, Says JYP Entertainment

Will the hit K-pop group responsible for "Tell Me" and "Nobody" reunite? Not right now, says JYP Entertainment, the Korean entertainment company that represents the Wonder Girls.

The once top tier Korean girl group Wonder Girls was rumored to make their first comeback since 2012, due to member Sunye spending time in Korea despite living in Canada with her husband and child. However, JYP Entertainment clarified that there are no confirmed plans regarding future Wonder Girls activities.

On June 23, JYP Entertainment addressed the rumors by saying, "nothing has been confirmed yet." The statement leaves open room for a future Wonder Girls reunion, although the group's future is uncertain.

In an interview with Billboard, member Yubin spoke about the Wonder Girls members remaining close, leading to speculation about the group members reuniting.

However, since member Sohee's contract expired and Sunye's marriage in 2013, the path of the Wonder Girls has been unclear. Rumors claim that former member Sunmi, who has since pursued a career as a solo artist, will return to the once-quintet to complete the ranks alongside Sunye, Yubin, Hyelim, and Yeeun, but JYP Entertainment's statement left room for speculation but offered no confirmation of anything related to Wonder Girls.

Wonder Girls was one of K-pop's most popular girl groups in the mid 2000's, due to the success of their retro style and sound on songs like "Tell Me," "Nobody," and "So Hot." The group's last release was the 2012 album, "Wonder Party."
