Amy Adams Amazes At 2013 Oscars

Adam's walked the red carpet at the 2013 Oscars wearing a beautiful ball gown by designer Oscar De Le Renta.

She showed off her small waist with a classy bodice and a long princess like skirt to finish off the look.

Adams stopped on the Red Carpet to chat with Ryan Seacrest about her fashion choice for the Oscars and her new role as Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman movie "Man of Steel."

A fan on Twitter asked Amy when she made her decision about the dress. Amy told Seacrest "about two weeks ago, and they rushed to get the dress finished."

Seacrest had a little fun with Amy Adams, asking her how she maneuvers in the dress and had her long train been stepped on yet?

"Not yet, not yet," Adams laughed in reply.

Seacrest asked Adams about her inspiration for playing Superman's love interest Lois Lane. She looked closely at who came before her, and what would work best for her adaptation of the comic book character.

"I think it's always important to pay attention to the people who went before you, take what works for the film that you're doing and then add a modern touch."

The 39-year-old actress who is best known for playing comedic roles was up for best supporting actress for her role in the film "Master." She was nominated along side Sally Field, Jackie Weaver, Helen Hunt and Anne Hathaway.

In "Master" Adams plays the wife of a cult leader. When she first read the script Adams told Fresh Air's Terry Gross, she had an opportunity to play "Somebody who on the surface was very, very mothering, almost genteel, and then underneath, there was this boiling almost rage."

Amy Adams did not win an Oscar last night. Anne Hathaway took home the best supporting actress Oscar for her role in "Les Mese'rables."
