SISTAR Discuss Their Penchant For Catchy Summer Tunes

Having just released another hit summer song with "Shake It," SISTAR explained the strategy and hard work behind their current reputation as the definitive summer girl group in K-Pop.

"It took us five years to become the summer girl group," said member Dasom to local Korean media, according to a report The Korea Herald.

"In order to attain this title, we actively promoted during the summer for five years, displaying energetic and cool images."

Since their debut in 2010, SISTAR has been scheduling their major comebacks during the summer months such as "Loving You" in June 2012, "Give It To Me" in June 2013 and "Touch My Body" in July 2014, and most recently "Shake It" in June 2015.

What is more impressive for SISTAR is they manage to pump out successful comebacks each time they return in summer. The group owes their status as the summer girl group to beat to their naturally vibrant and sunny personalities fitting the season.

"I think our biggest strength is that we are lively and animated," said rapper Bora. "Both on the stage and off the camera."

Fans of SISTAR can expect more from the girl group in the second half of the year. When asked whether they will be coming out with new songs past the summer season, Dasom said they will focus first on their summer promotions then set their sights on the fall and winter seasons.
