TJ Lane: Pleads Guilty For Murdering 3 High School Students

TJ Lane pleaded guilty for killing 3 of his classmates last year. On February 27, 2012 in Ohio TJ Lane walked into his Chardon high school and opened fire.  He shot 6 people killing 3 of them and leaving the others injured.

On the day of the shooting Lane walked into his school's cafeteria and fired off ten shots. He was arrested and tried as an adult.

According to CBS Land admitted her shot the students and said he didn't know why he did it. Both the defense and the prosecution ordered psychiatric tests done on Lane.

He was found fit to stand trial as an adult, despite the fact he admits to having "hallucinations, psychosis and fantasies" as reported by CBS.

Dr. Philip Resnick saw Lane during his initial competency examinations. The prosecutor is appealing the court to get Dr. Resnick to release more information about Lane's fantasies.

The Doctor left information about the fantasies out of his primary reports because he felt they were not relevant in assessing Lane's competency.

Since changing his plea from not guilty to guilty Lane will not be facing the death penalty. It is likely that he will serve life in prison.

Lane's lawyer Ian Friedman said "I will go on record as saying plea negotiations are ongoing at this time."

TJ Lane is going to be sentenced on March 19.
