JYJ's Junsu Dives Into The World Of His 'Death Note' Character In Recent Scene Playbill Interview

JYJ's Kim Junsu is featured in the July issue of theater magazine Scene Playbill. Junsu was recently cast as L in the upcoming production of Death Note. The project is based off the popular Japanese manga of the same name by Tsugumi Ohba. For his pictorial, Junsu sported the startling green hair look he adapted for his character.

During the accompanying interview, Junsu revealed how he felt playing the world's best detective. Despite his great intelligence, L is a rather eccentric character when it comes to his own appearance and mannerisms.

"It wasn't easy to act as L at first because everything from the tone of his voice, to his expression, to his gait and bodily gestures are very unusual," Junsu said. "However, I'm acting by finding the point where the original character and I can both feel and express the same thing."

The musical's main cast also includes Hong Kwang Ho as Junsu's rival Yagami Light, Jung Sun Ah as Light's number one follower Amane Misa, and Park Hye Na and Kang Hong Suk as Shinigami (Gods of Death).

Junsu was quick to praise his cast members. He stated, "I was able to take on this musical because of the star-studded cast. Please particularly look forward to one duet that I sing with top musical actor Hong Kwang Ho."

Death Note is currently playing at the Seongnam Arts Center Opera House in Seoul.
