SHINee's Minho To Make Acting Comeback In New Rom-Com TV Drama

SHINee's Minho will officially be making his return to the small screen.

On July 3, Daily Sports News reported that Minho has been cast for the lead role in OnStyle's first television drama Friends 2015 (tentative title). The drama is said to follow the love stories of young, urban men and women.

Minho made his acting debut in 2012 when he starred in the popular drama To the Beautiful You, alongside Sulli of f(x) and actor Lee Hyun Woo. Since then he has focused on his musical promotions in Korea and Japan with the other members of SHINee. This role in Friends 2015 will be his first main acting job in three years.

Minho caught audience and producer attention after SHINee's appearance on SNL Korea where he stood out for his comedic acting during the skits. "Minho has a stylish charm," a broadcasting official told Daily Sports News, "he has become a much more mature actor since debut. We think this drama will (also) help him grow."

Currently a filming and air date for Friends 2015 still remains unknown.

While Minho prepares for his solo work as an actor, his group SHINee are currently finishing up their fourth repackage album. SHINee just ended promotions for their summer song "View" which swept Korea and abroad by storm, ranking at number 6 on the Asian iTunes album chart and debuting at number 1 on the Billboard World Album charts.
