Korean Startups Look To Expand Business Abroad During KCON 2015 In Los Angeles

CJ E&M has recently announced more than 50 small- and medium-sized Korean companies will be joining KCON 2015 LA.

Scheduled to take place July 31 - August 3 at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, North America's largest Hallyu-centric convention, KCON, has made a name for itself as a place for fans to interact with their beloved idols while immersing themselves in a world of "All Things Hallyu."

To provide attendees with as much access to Korean products as possible, CJ E&M has selected 51 startups to take part in this year's convention, offering products ranging from beauty and fashion items to trendy household gadgets.

"KCON has become a popular business venue for Korean companies who seek to expand their business abroad," said Hyung Kwan Shin, Executive Vice President in charge of KCON 2015 USA at CJ E&M. Shin went on to say, "KCON can be used for Korean companies to test-market their products targeting young American K-Pop fans who are already fond of Korean culture and products. It's a win-win situation both for the companies and the American consumers who are interested in discovering Korea beyond K-Pop."

Those planning on attending the three-day convention can expect to find products like Korean language education programs and character goods of various K-Pop artists, beauty and cosmetic products and even a part of digital sunglasses equipped with Bluetooth and LED lamp to enable festival audiences to cheer on their favorite artists using the digital texting functions.

With so much many businesses taking part in this year's KCON, there's certain to be something for everyone.
