BEAST Member Lee Kikwang Confirmed For Upcoming Crime Drama 'Mrs. Cop'

BEAST member Lee Kikwang (also spelled Lee Gi Kwang) has been confirmed for SBS's upcoming drama Mrs. Cop.

On July 8, SBS officials revealed to Newsen that Kikwang accepted the role for Mrs. Cop and has already begun attending script readings.

Mrs. Cop follows the story of a homicide detective. Kikwang will take on the role of Lee Se Won, the youngest detective on the crime investigation team. His character is described as a sheltered "mama's boy" who grew up with little hardship in his life.

He is cast alongside Kim Hee Ae who has previously starred in series such as JTBC's Secret Love Affair and SBS' Midas. Also confirmed for the drama are Kim Min Jong (Secret Door, Reply 1994), Shin So Yul (Sweet Secret, Reply 1997), Son Ho Jun (Warm and Cozy, Reply 1994), and Lee Da Hee (Big Man, Secret Love).

Kikwang's first acting role was in 2009 with High Kick through the Roof. Since then he's made a handful of appearances in films and TV series. His last acting projects were in 2013 where he starred as himself in the tvN's 20's and as Kyung Sook in KBS2's My Friend is Still Alive, a terminally ill leukemia patient.

Although there is no confirmed date for Mrs. Cop, it is expected to start airing in August after the completion of SBS' current drama High Society.
