EXID Boost Goo Goo Ice Cream Sales As Brand's New Endorsement Models

EXID has signed on to become the brand endorsers for Lotte Food's Goo Goo Ice Cream, and their newest commercial seems to have been quite a hit, reports Allkpop.

Goo Goo Ice Cream has sold more than 5 billion KRW or roughly US$4.5 million in sales in June, and is 20% more sales than the brand saw last year.

Lotte Food said EXID had a lot to do with Goo Goo Ice Cream's rising sales and popularity. The girl group not only represent the brand well, but they also seem to have a knack for making people want to taste it especially in the summer season.

"We're coming to realize the power of trending girl group EXID as models. We hope that 'goo goo ice cream' will establish its position as a lovable product in a more expansive way," a representative from Lotte Food reportedly said.

EXID's commercial has been airing on the television since June 6, and one proof of its success is that it was able to garner more than 1 million views on YouTube in eight days.

EXID has risen to become one of the most recognizable girl groups in South Korea right now after their smash hit song "Up & Down" swept the charts.
