NAME: Anoushka Ekka

CURRENTLY: Obtaining her bachelor's degree in business economics from Delhi University. 

INTRO TO K-POP: "YouTube got me into K-pop," Ekka told KpopStarz. "I remember I was once watching a reaction video made by The Fine Bros, 'YouTubers React to K-pop.'  I saw the music video for EXO's 'Overdose,' which made me want to overdose myself with K-pop love! So, I pushed myself into this blackhole of awesomeness and started discovering more and more [K-pop]. Now, I can't stop!"

CULTURAL MISUNDERSTANDINGS: "The fact that it is in Korean means that K-pop isn't understood by many [in India]," Ekka explained. "Western music and culture is appreciated and loved here by almost everyone because it is in English, a universal language.  When people don't understand the lyrics they get annoyed easily. They think it's a lot of work to listen to music and read subtitles too. When they can easily listen to Bollywood songs, Indian pop, or Western music and understand the lyrics. They ask me why would they want to go for something in a new language like K-pop."

FAVORITE GROUP: EXO

WHY EXO: "I'm a big EXO fan," said Ekka. "They're very hardworking and amazing. Their music and dancing is more than perfect. They are all very kind and extremely hot. I'm really proud of them. It's funny, but EXO is like a mother to me because it is thanks to them that I entered the K-pop world. I also love hundreds of other groups, since the list of talented K-pop acts just keeps on growing with time."

FAVORITE SONG: "Growl"

FAVORITE SOLO ARTIST: Eric Nam

WHY ERIC: "Eric Nam's music and vocals are soothing and adorable, which I enjoy," added Ekka. "He is a really awesome person."

FAVORITE SONG: "I'm Okay"

APPEARING ON KOREAN TELEVISION: "I appeared for a few moments on the KBS show 'Exciting India," which was the best moment ever even though I was only there for like 0.000009 seconds," Ekka revealed. "It made my heart full of content because I was part of something that's promoting the thing I love in the place I love, namely promoting K-pop in India."
