SHINee's Jonghyun Responds To Misogynist Accusations On Instagram

Thanks to social media, it is easy these days to contact your favorite artists on social media. In the very least, you know that you're spreading more positivity in their lives.

Unfortunately, there's also plenty room for anti-fans and trolls to contact artists and spread negativity.

It would appear that SHINee's Jonghyun has been experiencing this situation as of late, with netizens accusing him of making misogynist statements when talking about how women are often a source of inspiration for him.

Jonghyun responded to the accusations on his personal Instagram, explaining that they are completely inaccurate.

"I am not a misogynist nor did I say misogynistic things. If what I've said offended anyone, I want to know exactly what I said that has offended you, which is why I'm communicating like this. While talking about music on radio I said that women were blessed beings, and regarding this issue I will continue to post on SNS," said Jonghyun (via Soompi)

Jonghyun then followed this with a post on his personal Twitter, specifically explaining the statement about women inspiring him:

"What I said about women being blessed and the source of my inspirations doesn't mean that they are below me. People are wondering if I consider women as objects for the sake of creativity, but there's nothing in the world that is used as objects for creation," Jonghyun explained.

Fans of the SHINee vocalist were quick to call the accusations unfounded based on Jonghyun's constant expressions of support and love for his mother and sister.

SHINee recently finished their promotions for their latest album "Odd" and plans to release a repackage of the album sometime this July.
