Amanda Knox's Ex Raffaele Sollecito Turns Murder Case Ordeal Into Triumph; Writes Second Book About His Journey

Raffaele Sollecito, the Italian ex-boyfriend of Amanda Knox who was named co-accused in her murder case, is cashing in on his whole ordeal.

According to the report, the computer science graduate is trying to get back his life after he and Amanda Knox were acquitted by the Court of Appeals in March for their alleged role in the slay of British student Meredith Kercher.

Daily Mail reported that Raffaele Sollecito has been setting up his very own company in his hometown of Giovinazzo.

He's also writing a follow-up to his book "Honor Bound: my journey to hell and back with Amanda Knox," published in 2012, with the help of journalist Andrew Gumbel.

Sollecito's father Francesco told Italian newspaper Corriere del Mezzogiorno that in order to get his new business venture off the ground, he was redeveloping a property that he had inherited from his mother.

But where did he get the money to set up his new business venture?

Raffaele Sollecito's father explained, "He received a local government grant of €100,000. I'm pleased that now that he's a grown man he has decided to take control of his life."

In an opinion piece published on Seattle Times, Raffaele Sollecito's ex Amanda Knox wrote about her murder case, "I am all too aware of how lucky I am to have received such strong support. I am also aware that countless other wrongfully convicted people do not have such support. I will work to give a voice to those individuals."

"I will do this because I know how a wrongful conviction can destroy one's life, and because we best honor crime victims by ensuring that the actual perpetrators are brought to justice.

Amanda Knox herself wrote a book in connection to the murder case. The title of the book was "Waiting to be Heard" and was published in 2013. She received $4 million for the project.
