'Prison School' Anime English Dub Confirmed By Funimation At 2015 San Diego Comic Con

As the largest con this side of the hemisphere reaches its last day, announcements continue to hit the internet left and right.

In particular, Funimation has announced their Summer 2015 English dub broadcast lineup.

The "Prison School" anime English dub is now officially confirmed for Funimation's summer 2015 lineup. The news comes from Funimation's panel at the 2015 San Diego Comic Con. No information about the possible English voice cast has been announced, but fans can preview the animation for the series in the official trailer below.

So far, fans in an ANN forum are expressing excitement for the dubbed version of "Prison School."

"I'm curious to see the dub version of Prison School the most. The first episode aired today imo and was pretty amusing," said Stark700.

The "Prison School" anime is directed by Tsutomu Mizushima with scripts by Michiko Yokote. Junichiro Taniguchi designed the characters and is also serving as the chief animation director. J.C. Staff is handling the animation production.

Yen Press describes the original story of "Prison School" by manga creator Akira Hiramoto as follows:

"Hachimitsu Private Academy was a revered and elite all-girls' boarding school on the outskirts of Tokyo...once upon a time. But with the new school year comes a revision to school policy: Boys are to be admitted into the student body for the first time ever."

The description goes on:

"But on his first day at Hachimitsu, Kiyoshi Fujino discovers that he's one of only five boys enrolled at the school. Their numbers overwhelmed by the thousand girls in the student body, is it heaven or hell that awaits these five (un)fortunates?!"
